And you think Kpop has gone downhill?

M-flo - Mirrorball Satellite 2012 by yyug

First song is an old school m-flo song from the early 2000s. Second is an AKB48 song. If you pay attention to Jpop, the ___48 groups are ruining Jpop more than idol groups are ruining Kpop.

So, before you think Kpop is going downhill, just look at the music industry next door and think to yourself "Yeah, Kpop may be going downhill, but it's not taking a giant shit all over everyone like Jpop is."

  2. There's still some good stuff, but you have to wear your biggest boots because you have to wade through a lot of shit to find the good stuff coming out.

  4. Although it's true that the quality in music is going downhill, some idiots actually enjoy it. Sadly, I am one of those idiots. What type of music you enjoy and don't enjoy depends all on your personal preference. People don't get signed because they can't sing. (Even in the K-pop industry. Even though they're more better at speaking 10 languages or modeling their pretty faces, they have at least SOME singing ability.) A rock fan might not appreciate a pop song as much as a pop fan. The same as how my grandfather can't appreciate any of the music I listen to, saying it's junk. My point? Not everyone will like what you like, hate what you like, or worship you for praise you for your inadequate use of grammar. But there's one thing I agree with you on: AKwhoeverthefuck sounds really terrible.

  5. I'm a huge Jpop fan, but there are so many idol groups out now compared to 7 years ago when I got into Jpop. Solo artists rarely release anything now and Jpop has been really stagnant, afraid to try something different. The actual pop sounds the same, but the people who are singing it do it with less ability and passion. That's why I just shake my head at Jpop. It gets harder year after year to find good music.
