Kim Kwang Soo's Next Terrible Idea: The SeeYa

This song is from the original SeeYa. They were one of my favorite groups when they were around and I almost ragequit Kpop when they disbanded in early 2011. I knew SeeYa's disbandment was the beginning of the end for CCM, but The SeeYa is a slap in the face for fans of SeeYa.

Just a recap for Kpop noobs, SeeYa was a three member ballad group under MNet Media. Later on, MNet would create a sub label, Core Contents Media. Giving Kim Kwang Soo more power was a mistake. Anyway, that crazy, demented fucker actually lived up to his nickname of The Midas Touch. SeeYa and SG Wannabe did really well in the mid 2000s when ballads were huge in Korea, and this later prompted him to debut Davichi. T-ara was also originally supposed to be a ballad group before Jiae and Frankenstein's daughter Jiwon left.

Good things don't last forever though. Nam Gyuri left the group in 2009. There was a riff between Nam Gyuri and Kim Kwang Soo that makes the T-ara scandal look like kiddy shit. It wasn't a pretty scene to watch, but eventually SeeYa moved on and added Soomi to the group.

This wasn't the first time SeeYa did pop music (they did it with Hot Girl when Nam Gyuri was still in the group), but SeeYa had to temporarily abandon their ballad style since dance-pop music from idols became the craze in 2009. SeeYa proved they could handle the change, and proved that a group could sing dance songs instead of just sounding like shit. However, Soomi never lasted in the group, as she was then moved to Co-Ed, and that brings me to the next point in this article.

Co-Ed was where Kim Kwang Soo really started losing it. Some would say he started fucking up with T-ara, but with the success T-ara had before HwayounGate, he thought he could duplicate that success easily. So, he tried making Hyewon the Jiyeon of the group and tried shoving her down our throats. Then Co-Ed debuted with a song that sounded like a T-ara reject song. That failure didn't open his eyes since Kim Kwang Soo tried duplicating T-ara's formula yet again with Gang Kiz. Everyone knows how badly that turned out.

So, Kim Kwang Soo still had T-ara and Davichi, so he thought things were still good. Those two groups were his cash cows. He moved Co-Ed and Gang Kiz to a sub label to hide his failures. Without two black holes, Kim Kwang Soo had everything made...or so he thought. HwayounGate happened and that fiasco affected the sales of Sexy Love and T-ara's image. Whether or not anything actually happened, netizens distorted things to the extent it'll take a year plus for T-ara to restore their image. Oh, that's okay, in the meantime, CCM can just promote Davichi...OH WAIT, DAVICHI FREED THEMSELVES FROM THAT HELLHOLE! CRISIS ALERT! WHAT TO DO?!?!?!?!?!

RUSH THE DEBUT OF YOUR NEXT GIRL GROUP AND NAME THEM AFTER A GROUP THAT HAS ALREADY DISBANDED! GENIUS! MIDAS TOUCH! A MUCH BETTER IDEA THAN PUTTING IN A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL IN A GROUP WHO CAN'T SPEAK KOREAN TO RAP IN KOREAN!

CCM already had planned to debut yet another girl group next year, but with Davichi giving Kim Kwang Soo the middle finger, he decided to debut the ones who could sing now. There are also rumors that former SeeYa member Lee Boram is set to join.

I'm just wondering who is going to be the Nam Gyuri of the group (NSFW).

  1. Pretty much sums the whole thing up.

I wonder if any of SeeYa 2.0's members will do nip slips as well to boost their popularity.

    1. You could be right. I thought I read somewhere that Lee Boram might rejoin, but who knows what's going on in KKS's head.

    2. Not even KKS knows what is in KKS's head

    3. I think it's more likely that Soomi joins.

Ps: Seeya only disbanded, because Yeonji didn't renew her contract.

    1. You could use it at the T-ara Diadem forums since there's a big blabbering idiot who actually believes in KKS's shit.

  4. Why doesn't KKS just tell T-ara to tell the truth about what really happened? He should have all of them go on Strong Heart confess, be honest, and take time off to think about their actions. Then after time has past they come back with a great song and everyone loves them again. Then he can make a new group. He needs to get his and T-ara's image fixed.

    1. Who knows what the truth really is. There's no way that I believe that Hwayoung is 100% innocent, just like I don't believe T-ara is 100% innocent. It's in the past and people should just move on. We had fun writing about it and covering the incident, but it's old news now. No one cares about Hwayoung anymore anyway.

    2. I miss Hwayoung and her dirty lesbian rapist ways...

    3. If KKS has T-ara to tell the truth what really happened, then chances are Soyeon will probably pinpoint KKS himself as the biggest cunt of a douchebag of the entire mess - which should be the case. Besides, the article says he tries to hide his failures. Not making T-ara say the truth is one of many attempts (though he was a big fucking failure long before that scandal anyway)

  5. You forgot about Black Pearl.

...just like KKS did because technically they are still with CCM.

Scary sometimes, with her emotionless face.

      I prefer Yeonji in looks.

  8. I'm still upset they stuck Shannon in Co-Ed rather than saved her for a new group. She must have *really* upset KKS when she turned down his sexual advances.
