Saturday Shitfest #8

Yeah yeah, this could be an article for STFU. However, I don't wish to give mentally retarded EXO fans that much spotlight.

If making shit up is enough qualification to become a detective, shouldn't I be part of the NSA, spying on everyone and shit? Fans like these remind me of every single English teacher I have ever had. They look too far between the words and try to derive meaning that wasn't there in the first place. I hate it when people try to derive hidden meanings from art forms such as literature and music. No, you interpret it that way because you want to see it that way and then try to convince others what you see is the real meaning to the work when no such meaning was intended in the first place.

Big thanks to comekpop for the gif.

My feels for how good that Sulli gif is.

  1. Some Exo fans need to check out the article on confirmation bias. A few years ago I had an interest in deriving "hidden" meanings from various pop songs, and at one point "found" that the infamous viral hit Friday was about a group of murderers on the run to Mexico. I could probably find the same plot within Wolf if I tried.

  2. Gonna say this again, koyote made a comeback and it's awesome. Though imo the superhero concept is quite late to use, still a solid comeback though.

What programs do you guys use to make gifs?

    1. I assume they all use Photoshop. I know Zaku does. You can see what klogg/fiddle.se uses on his site. I'm not sure what comekpop uses.

I had no idea Koyote made a comeback. I'll have to go check it out.

    2. photoshop cs6 is super easy to make gifs with once you figure out the kinks and learn like your style and what you find aesthetic

fiddle.se uses cs2, which is great if you want to sit and create a series of images and then import, but cs6 has the dynamiclink media server, which is basically a godsend for making gifs (although i'm not really sure which one gives better quality images, it's a small margin anyway *he insists on .png which is really hq*)

    3. I just use Google gif search. I'd like to make my own but sadly I was distracted when Zaku ran through how to do it on the livestream. Must be something to do with the material he used.

    5. Yes. Google search for images, then under "search tools" select "type" and then "animated".

    6. And if you're getting dud results just add the word "gif" into the search bar as well as whatever else is in there.

  4. why do so many exo blog urls have something to do with dicks.

i saw photos some fan holding up large neon signs saying things like "FUCK ME KRIS" and "COME FOR ME KRIS" it must be so uncomfortable to see that shit. from overweight fourteen year olds especially.

    1. Simple - EXO's shitastic music forces EXOtics to focus on other attributes the members possess; namely their dicks. They are the new Super Junior, afterall :D

The 'you' is obviously internalized, indicating a self-antagonism. The neo-romanticist influences sets up the expressed 'meaning' as some sort of self-reflection, and yet, forewarning from declaratory attitude of the author in the internalization, and the pain of emotional realization thereof. The time period it was published in gives away the recurring theme:

    Penis envy.

Freud amuses me on so many levels; all I derived from him in Psychology class was that everybody was a freak, but since it's socially unacceptable, we all hide to various degrees which is why we're all fucked up mentally. Because we want to be dirty and depraved monsters.

Apparently the group is made up of vocalists from Korea's best army chorus group. They have quite a bit of musicality under their belts; I dunno, I know I'll be keeping an eye on them. Glad to see at least SOME genuine talent in the pool of this years debut shits.

    2. Yoona's crooked face, overrated as usual.......How on earth she becomes a quasi-Goddess in Korea is beyond me............Do Korean men really find her uber-attractive as in fapping before computer monitor to her pics, or they just got brainwashed by SME's propaganda?

    3. personally i've never fapped using just yoona as my inspiration material, it's just impossible to me. god knows how hard i've tried. she's pretty and all but... idk... it's like eat a side dish before the real dinner comes. to me she's the eternal warm up girl.

  10. It's business as usual, SME promotes whichever groups that move albums off the shelf. However, SME seems to have lost its plot in recent years. The kpop behemoth used to produce groups (such as TVXQ and SNSD) that appealed not only to hardcore fandoms but the general populace. But their uncanny ability to capture the heart and mind of Korean nation is going down the drain as the years go by. EXO is at best an acquired taste and caters to none but a niche market. Worst of all, I don't see how they will ever extend their purview to segments of the population not bearing resemblance to the babbling, rampaging, pimpled, overweight and spiteful fangirls. This applies to some extent to F(x) and Shinee as well. So far they haven't quite lived up to the mammoth expectation precipitated by the success of their predecessors. Well, they're as like as not still more successful than 99% of kpop artists out there, but just nowhere near being the phenomenon that SME had hope for.

    1. SHINee and f(x) are at least on good terms (generally speaking) with the Korean public, it seems. People don't really listen to them as much as they did other SME idols, but they don't mind them and tend to respect them a bit more than other idols.
EXO, I think, is getting a bad rep with the public (the ones that actually know about them), mostly because of how SM forces them into every aspect of media and their terrible fanbase. They're even shoving them on SHINee and f(x), with members appearing in reality shows meant for these groups and MV teasers and what not. Nobody likes to have something shoved in their face like that, and I think that's where SM really lost their touch. They're trying way too hard with EXO, and it's having the opposite effect that they wanted(spare for the insane amount of fans who will, with time, eventually grow out of EXO.) I think this time around they might have wanted to do something different with EXO instead of just gaining a mass fangirl following; I think they want them to appeal to the general public as well, but they're going about it all wrong.

Or maybe I'm just spewing a bunch of bullshit, it's hard to tell sometimes.

      Delete
    2. as i remember it, SHINee made a significant impact when they debuted, then dwindled. f(x) made less of an impact, and EXO even less of one, despite the marketing and pre-debut hype increasing with each successive group.

what SM has done with EXO however is not a mistake, i think. no, they don't have national recognition and they probably never will, but what they have created is a monster group of members that seem to be perfectly crafted to attract a market that isn't quite niche, but a collection of the most hardcore crazies from almost every other fandom. what this gives them is a huge profit; exo gets hundreds of thousands of views on bs youtube videos that basically cost nothing extra in a day's time, and these kids fawn over that shit. their overpriced exo merchandise seems to be selling pretty well, too (these people really think of everything - i saw a couple of exo passport holders once and they actually looked nice)
what this also means unfortunately is that exotics are the most annoying fandom around

i didn't watch the falling in love mv but i think that is a bindi though. in india there are like bindi shops (they sell other stuff like kajal and earrings too, usually) where you go and pick from a ridiculous range of "gem stickers", which look a lot like what dara seems to have on
