ReplyDeleteAnd the only reason SNSD beat Kara is that they are promoting the HELL out of their album. I've seen Kara promote Girl's Talk once on television (Jumping/Mister combo). They never performed Jet Coaster Love live, but I've seen 4 or 5 Mr. Taxi lives.
When Kara releases a new single they will probably have Japan again.

Not to mention they will slaughter SNSD with Go Go Summer, which is a mini-album at that.

I dont know of a foreigner reigning on the charts in japan for months, let alone weeks. Sell lots of albums, anybody can if they have dedicated fans and promotions and such, but to have it last for weeks, it will take a damn miracle.
BoA used to do well on the charts but she was never being promoted as a Korean pop star, just as another pop star in Japan.

I'm from Japan and the way we see SNSD they are just a girl group who think they are all 'that'. Coming into the country thinking that they can be #1 straight away just because they were #1 in Korea. That's not how it works in this country. You gotta work your way up the ladder. Just because you are getting #1 already doesn't mean that you can expect every single Japanese person to bow down to you, praise you like an 'idol' and take the crown from our local artist and give it to your SNSD.
