Question of the Week 34

This week's question comes from Anonymous  Feb 17, 2012 05:13 PM (http://antikpopfangirl.blogspot.com/2012/02/question-of-week-31.html):
What is the best debut in japan [does not include a remake of a korean song like what beast did with shock & bad girl]

Thank you for your suggestion for this week.

If anyone has suggestions for later Question of the Weeks, please send them to zomg.oppa.sareanghae@gmail.com, or leave them in the comments below. Thanks!

  1. Is there any? I thought every kpop group debuted with remake song as far as I know (even for KARA and SNSD too).

    1. All I can think of off the top of my head is 2PM...
They debuted with Take Off, then released two other singles I think. Im Your Man/Ultra Lover.

    2. Yeah, what is this bullshit? Sounds like the question-asker is trying to stack the deck because their bias happened to debut with an original song.

    3. U-KISS debuted with an original song, Tick Tack, followed by Forbidden Love.
There's also The Boss who continues to release original ones.

  2. Wikipedia says T-ara's remake of their 2009 hit 'Bo Peep Bo Peep' debuted at #1 on the Oricon weekly charts with 49,172 copies sold, the first ever in history for a debuting Korean girl group.

My Google-fu isn't good enough to find a Korean group that debuted in Japan with an original.

  4. Not exactly debut...

But SNSD's Japanese album was their best IMO.

Yet they release that 'the Boys: eight remixes' shit in America.

  5. Jet Coaster Love, because it is the most "jpop" song release i have seen from kpop groups in Japan. But we will wait till T-ara makes a Japanese debut with an originally Japanese song, that shit would be jpop as fuck.

  6. Big Bang's first Japanese album had Haru Haru on it. They're not successful in Japan, but I like their songs so (probably because it doesn't cater to Japanese tastes).

  7. I dunno, MBLAQ? (I think their song "Your Luv" isn't a remake).

  8. Just throwing Supernova's Kimi Dake wo Zutto out there. Yup.
