Just because TTS didn't do well in one lousy award event doesn't mean that subgroups in SNSD should forever stay away from Kpop as a whole. Sheesh. There's always next year, y'know. It's not like SM gives a damn about these awards anyway so long as they get a good profit from the stuff they release.
Besides, MAMA is legit as donkey shit you hear from conspiracy theorists or politicians in the radio or TV.
It's not like they did poorly in sales this year. If anything, this revived the idea that SNSD has at least a few singers.

But then again, none of them can really call themselves that famous outside of SNSD, even Yoona's popularity seems to be stagnant. Sucks for them. The SM curse in full effect.

People always say this because SNSD is ubiquitous, we've gotten so used to seeing them around that some are getting burnt out. International fans don't really matter that much but all the concerts in which they appear are always sold out, and they still get millions of views for their MVs very quickly.
I mean you don't have to like them but it would be factually inaccurate to say they've lost popularity. As for the most prominent members, 2012 demonstrated that SM is willing to let the members branch out. They all make bank, the musically inclined (TTS) got to create an album without the deadweight dragging them down, and the others got to act or appear on TV. I think they're happy, even though their Japanese performances of late lack energy and are all lip-synched.
Actually the other girl are growing fanbases, especailly Hyo Yeon. I don't understand why YoonA is so popular though.

They are only getting these solo CF's because they are still part of SNSD. Once they leave SNSD, I'd like to see them keep getting deals...and not just 1 year after they disband but talking 5 years out. No one in SNSD has the staying power needed IMO to last past SNSD. But again...IMO.

DeleteThe only reason they didn't win anything is because they were promoting in Japan. Nobody ever wins anything at the MNET awards if they aren't there. Had they been there, Taeyeon would have won best OST by a landslide and they likely would have won Best Female Group.

It's not that odd. T-ara had the huge scandal, maybe people aren't over that yet? F(x) did win a lot of weekly award songs for Electric Shock. The song is actually kind of catchy. F(x) fans probably voted and made multiple accounts, so they could win. It all seems plausible.
