10 things k-pop can teach western pop music

Some guy on AKP forums made a post about 10 things filthy Westerners Americans can learn from grorious k-pop asian music.

If only you were real Bieber-san.

1. The fan lights and fan light oceans. It would be cool to see american pop stars have fan lights, so at award shows we can see who has the most supportive fanbase.
No, that's stupid. If it was something people here wanted to do they'd already be doing it.
2. Creative fanbase names. Here in america its the artist name+er or tic, boring. I really hope exo call there fans nightwings or nightmares and make there fan color purple and black.
That's even worse than  your first suggestion. And no one who isn't retarted does that here to begin with.
3. The slick mv's. They really pull you in unlike american mv's.
That's completely subjective. I'd love to know which k-pop music videos pulled you in as you say. The only one I really got into was Bubble Pop, but that's understandably on another level than most vids.
the choreo is always amazing and it really captivates new fans.
Western music never has good choreography.
The whole family concept and family concerts. Its genius. I wish the big record labels would notice this tight knit concept. Universal and Sony have almost all the top western pop stars, a universal family concert tour would bring in millions and millions if dollars. Step your game up american labels.
Rap acts do this all the time.
The age of there stars. I wish there were more younger male popsingers here to relate to. Its so easy to get into kpop because there are more male singers similar to my age which makes more relatable unlike 35 year olds.
That's your own problem. Maybe try not being 15? Or relating to them based on shared life experiences or something, not solely on age?
Acceptence of asian performers. Obviously kpop accepts asian singers because its asian but if american labels would see how talented and dedicated they are. If american labels would invest in an asian artists with the power they have they could bring up a singer that would break sterotypes and racial borders like MJ. I hate racism. If this happend stuff like me kicking my cousins ass at mma practice for calling CL a racial slur. If the racism was stopped i wouldn't have broke my cousins nose. I swear i change from a fanboy to a fangirl when somebodys racist towards k-idols.
Asians  have never been  in popular American music acts.
Good looks. Almost all idols are beautiful, p.s or not. I wish singers in american labels would understand that harry styles is not good looking, he looks like a cross between a troll and ugly horse and JB's jaw is freaking huge and freaky long, come on grow them bangs out because it hides it well and dont get me started on miley cyrus hair, come american record labels take care of your singers image. Now this is my opinion but look at CL, bora, donghae, and daehyun from bap, there are all incredibly sexy. Now i dont even like guys like that but you know there good-looking when a guy knows another guy is sexy. Step your game up 'merica.
Also subjective but if you don't think Rihanna or Beyonce care about their image you're stupid, well I've already established you're retarted but whatever.
Music shows are genius. i want an american music bank.
It was called TRL and we stopped it because it got boring like 10 years ago.
I guess that if interscope wanted snsd to be huge they could because there so powerful and i beleive their father company is universal, unversal has such an incredible influence over the american music scene they could make snsd superstars overnight. Come on uni you have the media reach. So get on it and get snsd in to american's life . Anyways add something you think american labels and stars could. But nothing like keeping control of there singers actions, there still humans, not puppets. So they should do as they please, unless its that god awful haircut that miley got.
Kpop will never be popular in America outside of major cities. Hint: Look at the last 5 winners of American Idol. Kpop will never be more than a novelty like Gangnam Style.

tldr; nice troll. If you want k-pop shit, watch k-pop. You just want Bieber with a stupid fan name.

    1. One thing that I think would be cool for Westerners to adopt is how fans constantly donate rice/food in support of their artists/idols which are than given to charities. That's something I really like.

  8. I would like to see the look on One Direction oppas' faces when their fangirls send them their used tampons or period blood letters or pubic hair cookies. That's something Western fans can take from K-pop.

  13. American fan club names annoy the shit out me so I think there was a poorly presented but valid point there. Kinda how Directioners just added er on the end or Believers changed one letter to form a stupid pun. Not to mention all the other shit ones like Swifties, Lovatics, Selenators etc. If people are going to be annoying enough to call themselves by a fan club name at least have a little thought to it.

Star1 (although I usually say it wrong cause I'm white) is a clever combination of the Star from Sistar, 1 from their aim to be the best and the world "Style" which is how it's pronounced. Blackjacks (as big a pain in the ass as they are) is pretty good too. Although of course there are a bunch of shit ones that exist but this is a non English speaking country... (Sunny Hill may as well have just named their club Nazis)

  14. Whilst there is some good choro out there in western pop dancing ability doesn't seem to be required in comparison to Kpop where it's really a necessity (although some lack compared to the group they all would kick my ass in terms of skill) in the season of x factor one direction were in Niall (or however you spell that) couldn't dance for shit and I think even refused to go on stage but still made it to the next round (I have a directioner cousin. Don't ask me why I remembered that though).

Generally speaking whilst there are western pop artists out there with dancing back grounds (Cheryl Cole, Britney) it's not often an artist is marketed with Dabcing as the focus of MVs or other promotions. And it's very rare for things like dance versions or full length rehearsal clips to come out for top 40 songs. And if choreography is ever included its usually too difficult for normal people to want to attempt learning.

  18. I don't think there is anything western pop artist need to take from K-pop. The days of oppression in the music industry is virtually non-exist but in Kpop, everybody is getting crack by some whip. Either by their fans or money hungry CEO's robbing them blind of a real career.
