Korean Netizens Want Lee Ji Ah To Apologize On Behalf Of Her Grandfather

In the latest WTF news being thrown out there, Korean netizens are hating all over Lee Ji Ah...because what her grandfather did over 70 years ago. No, I can't make shit like this up.

Anyone can make a case as to why they dislike him for what he did, but why the fuck is the blame going to Lee Ji Ah? Just reading the comment from Retard #6 demanding that Lee Ji Ah apologize to the whole nation for something she didn't do is ridiculous.

It's so easy to be a judgmental asshole while looking back in history, but most of the Pro-Japanese Koreans were simply looking out for their own livelihood. Is it excusable? No. But being a dick about the choices someone made to survive isn't changing anything. Demanding that someone apologize for actions that they didn't commit is as equally useless.

If Lee Ji Ah has to apologize for anything, it's for the fact that so many Korean netizens are fucking retarded. I would be more sympathetic to her in that situation because she has to apologize for people who are currently living and who could actually change their own behavior in the present.

  1. That would be like if Hitler's descendants had to apologize to all of Germany for what Hitler did. You'd think that the country with one of the highest education standards in the world would have people that think before they say anything. Apparently not, since there are stupid comments like that. I wonder what other stupid cases will Korean netizens criticise celebrities for next.

    1. Country leaders very often apologize for what their forefathers/predecessors have done.

It's stupid, since they have no right to and they actually can't.
Just say what they did is shit, you don't want to make the same errors and be done with it.

    2. it's weird but every single german person i've met is so aware of that

    3. Because, unlike others, there are countries that teach in school about the shit they've done in the past.

    4. Yeah, I agree with No. I do think Germany does go a little overboard in apologizing for the Holocaust and what Hitler did, but I would much prefer that over what Japan does: pretend nothing happened and paint yourself as the victim in all the mess.

I won't hate currently living Japanese people for what their ancestors did, but it gets old to hear their politicians deny reality and for their education system to completely avoid the subject. They don't have to apologize, but at the very least, they can stop being dicks and accept the truth of what their country did.

  2. Wow, I had no idea they hold grudges like THAT. I'm pretty sure that if she herself were pro-Japanese. She'd be in, oh I don't know…. JAPAN! Please tell me those are trolls...

  3. It's a cultural thing, not excusing it, it's effed up but its a Korean thing. The DPRK puts three generations in their concentration camps for one man's political dissent. I will apologize for Uncle Rich's bad impersonations though.

    1. But that's North Korea you're talking about. The three-generation sentence has nothing to do with South Korea.

  5. Is this really a cultural thing if white people have to apologise for all the wrongs "they" committed against every other race?

    1. Yeah, following that logic (to the extreme), I should have to apologize for the actions of my Viking and Goth (the barbarian tribe, not the fashion) ancestors and for Africans selling their fellow Africans into slavery.

  9. Chuck's grandchildren should apologize for him causing many fangirl's tears.
