Rookie group Purfles debuted this week, and everyone slobbered all over themselves blabbing about how it's the best group to debut this year. And by everyone, I mean the five people I saw correctly spell "Purfles" on Twitter.
The trio has been winning people over with its fierce look and sound.
Their debut track "1, 2, 3" is good and all — certainly better than most of the releases from kpop's top veteran groups this year. I'm looking at you, SNSD.

Purfles is a hot group, with a great song and a polished boxing-infused video. That's all fine and dandy. But this "Best rookies of 2014" talk? Nonsense. They aren't even the best trio to debut this year with a strong song and fierce boxing concept.
That honor goes to Bebop. Remember them?

The sad thing is, these groups will probably stay nugus for the foreseeable future. Bebop will probably do better in Japan, considering their preference for girl bands, especially the hot ones.

I found out about Bebop because some asshole keep spamming the clip of ayeon playing drums with the video titled as "hot korean girl playing drums".
Ugh, it's true, especially for Bebop, I'm afraid. It sucks because these three groups are really strong.

DeleteI will never understand Korea's craziness for Busker Busker. They seem to treat them like gods over there. Whenever BB is mentioned in an article together with another groups, you would always see the other groups getting bashed for getting compared to BB. This is one of the reasons why South Korean's music industry will always be behind Japan. I swear to raptor jesus, if BB try to break into the Japan's or America's music scene, nobody will give a fuck about them. Not even indie fans will like them.
