Round-Up Reviews: Ladies' Code, BAP, SHINee, Up10tion, Hyoyeon

Finals week start tomorrow and I don't have time to give each their own individual reviews since I'm preparing for finals. So I'm just going to wind up some thoughts on the releases in one post.

Chad Past: a Chad Future retrospective

First it was Eat Your Kimchi defecting to Japan and now Chad Future, the young guy from the USA who decided to be an "American k-pop star", has decided to move onto the next phase of his career and focus on music within America with his new group F.A.M.E.  This is truly an event to be celebrated, so come with Kpopalypse now as he explores the career of Chad Future Past in commemoration!

KPOPALYPSE's 30 worst k-pop songs of 2012

Some of you folks have noticed that I've got a "best of 2012" list on my blog, but not a "worst of 2012" list, and have asked when will I do a list of all the shitty stuff from that year.  So due to popular demand as well as a desire to be a completist and scratch my OCD-itch here's a massively-belated list of what I believe to be 2012's biggest k-pop stinkers.

The reason for the omission of a "worst of 2012" list until now is because when I first started blogging it was around the end of 2012, and I hadn't figured out back then that people would actually prefer me to take a gigantic dump on their faves than praise them.  I only ever wanted to write nice things and be happy and say how great everything was... but these awful songs probably helped pushed me over the edge until I became the blogger that I am today.

Warning - this list has 30 YouTube videos and might get laggy on slow computers.  Give it a few seconds to load before you start scrolling down and crashing your browser, you impatient cunt.

Five word k-pop song reviews!

It's well-documented (by me) that I'm not much of a fan of writing song reviews.  However, song reviews are also something that readers really like, and I always get bombarded with lots of requests to do them, so I try to do my best to cater to popular demand.

The last time I decided to review songs I wrote a Haiku review post, and looking back on it now, a thought occurred to me: Haiku is way too long.  Who's got time to read all those syllables just to find out what someone thinks?  Certainly not the average k-pop listener - isn't our short attention span and need for instant gratification part of the reason why we like k-pop in the first place?

Therefore, to satisfy the thirst for endless song reviews in the most appropriate manner possible, I asked for submissions via my ask.fm for songs that readers wanted me to review and got a bunch of responses, and now I'm going to review each one... in only five words!  You'll be hard-pressed to find any k-pop song reviews on the Internet more thoughtless and tossed-off than these!  Enjoy (or bitch, your choice)!
