Over the next few days you'll bee seeing the layout of the blog changed a bit. The right column is a clusterfuck and needs to be changed. Right under the banner there is space that says "Anti Kpop-Fangirl Chatroom" which will take you to the chatroom. I'm putting it on another page so that AKF will speed up (seriously, that chat makes the site run like ass in Google Chrome. Fucking flash player crashes all the time on AKF because of it.) It will also get rid of the popping noise for those of you who don't know where it comes from.
The affiliates will be added back, it's just that Zaku keeps removing them when he works on the layout. I'll add them back tomorrow morning when I resume working on some changes to the layout.
I also plan on putting the archive in the another page too. That shit stretches the page too much, especially if you go back to when I wrote 200 articles a month when the blog first opened.
I'll also put up a page about the authors. One is to remove that section on the right hand of the blog and two for those of you bored enough, you kind read some shit about the authors.
I'll probably remove the recent comments section. Does anyone even look at that?

Well, I don't know about the others, but I do/did look at the recent comments section. Sometimes it helps in finding your way to a halfway sensible discussion. Now I miss it~
ReplyDeleteOther than that all the changes sound good. As for the popping noise, I just blocked that fucking fish pool with my ad-blocker, so it's only a white rectangle and I don't have to get irrirated by it anymore.
I do hope the fugly background will disappear soon, tho.
The fish don't cause the popping noise. It's the chatroom. Every time someone types a message, it pops. There's no way for us to turn off the popping, so everyone has to manually mute it themselves.

DeleteSince it's on a separate page now instead of a widget, we really need to change the chat to mibbit. That way we'll get rid of flash forever, those with IRC client can access it that way, still super simple for new people, and it will be easier to setup moderators and whatnot.
