Twice ended their "Cheer Up" promotions yesterday with another win on Inkigayo and retrospectively won Music Bank after losing to AOA on Friday.

AKF's Top 10 Idols of the New Generation

With many of the established groups peaking and starting to either (1) focus on solo activities, (2) focus on Japan and/or China, (3) stop giving any sorts of fucks, or (4) a combination of all of the above, many people find newer groups to start liking in addition to the groups one already likes. The latest generation of idols have debuted a ton of girls who are ready to take the mantle.

For this generation, I'm considering it starting from Red Velvet's debut. The Big 3 essentially determine the next generation whenever they debut new groups.

There's going to be 20 fancams (2 per idol), so just be warned if you're using mobile and don't want all of your data wasted or have a slower Internet connection and need time for all of the videos to load.

Twice - Cheer Up - Avengers Version

Twice released a special MV of "Cheer Up" after still doing so well (7th win today on Mnet Countdown).

I guaran-God-damn-tee you that some SJWs on tumblr are triggered that since Twice used "Avengers" in the title. There is cultural appropriation by Koreans using American culture (unless Twice is culture fluid and identify as Americans). There's also a lack of Captain America making out with another dude, which just offends a lot of SJWs. There's also a lack of Momo trying to molest Mina or Sana, which triggers me.

The Windy Day Challenge

Well girl group competition sure is high right now. So many releases. Oh My Girl is back with some turnaround promotions for their repackage album. I'll be honest, I thought Liar Liar was so many steps back from the amazing Closer that it fell below their kind of awkward yet still creative and fun debut. As a promising group with a unique style I was worried they were falling into the generic boring cutesy trap, but now they have come to prove those fears unfounded.



More fun jams, more middle east influence (this time in music rather than astrology), more nods to... kinda creepy folklore of mystically endangered innocence... Yes, this is the OMG I was hoping would further develop.

Here is my challenge: Listen to it 10 times in a row and see if you don't love it by then.

It's definitely strange at first and suffers a bit from kpop multisong syndrome, but it sinks in to win you over. It's fresh stuff that stands out.

MOGEF says Tahiti isn't hot

The new AOA was rated for ages 15 and older while seemingly making attempts to be modest, but while Tahiti was suggestively rolling their hips like any kpop group and even wore real bikinis and had slomo wet boob shots and a member taking a bubble bath, they were rated for ages 12 and over. Such a low age rating from MOGEF is basically a declaration that the material is pure as the driven snow, so in this case it's clearly a message that they think Tahiti isn't sexy at all. How rude, withholding from these hardworking nugus the scandal-boost they need to gain some street cred.

Kpop seduction appears to be accelerating

In 2003 Lee Hyori wrote a song about seducing a man while his girlfriend had walked off. She claimed that her powers allowed her to do it in just 10 minutes, stealing his heart away just like that. Now, it is unknown just what kind of things she did to make this happen so quickly, perhaps by giving him a handy, but she did include a strange lyric about those 10 minutes becoming like a year. It would seem that time manipulation magic was involved, and as we will see, there is evidence that this magic has been wielded and is now flying out of control. Hyori would not remain the top sexy icon in kpop, and later Hyuna came onto the scene, Hyori speaking well of her. Could she have passed on the dark arts?

In 2009 4 Minute debuted. They made it clear that they named their group after the goal of winning you over in 4 minutes. Surely a new standard, but they did say it was only a goal. However, in 2011 they came out with the album 4 Minutes Left, and they made it clear that they had a handle on their sorcery. Aside from the intro track to the album which makes it pretty clear, the "4 Minutes Left" mantra continues at the start of the song Mirror Mirror. In it they express some frustration that they aren't being looked at, being certain that once your eyes fall upon them you'll be enraptured. The fact they use an analogy from a witch queen in a fairytale makes it clear we're dealing with time magic.

In 2015 NC.A wrote a song called Cinderella Time where she wants to be with her boyfriend longer before curfew hits. She includes some strange lyrics that make reference to the passing of time being strange and wanting it to stop. Of course, being a nugu who looks 5 years younger than she is, she is not strong in seduction time magic. It comes to her awareness, but it is senseless to her and ultimately she lacks any command over it and resorts to despairing. Red Velvet also wrote a song about time acceleration, but they were just using it alone in bed to discard reality. Perhaps then these powers are related to any desire, not just seduction? Do they have to do with localized dimensional shifts?

AOA have proven themselves masters of seduction, and in their most recent album they made some astonishing claims. They have a song that says they actually only need 10 seconds to take you. Holy shit! How could this be possible? I feel like my theory about pockets or bubbles of time shift may be correct. In this song they mention needing physical contact, whereas 4 Minute mentioned looking at them. AOA also says they'll just take 10 seconds so that no one will notice. I think this means that while 4 Minute tries to take control of the room, AOA only takes their target, allowing their work to be more concentrated. While this disappearance would be suspicious, they figure if they only disappear for 10 seconds people will just figure they moved to a different part of the room for a moment.

Truly fascinating. On the surface it would appear that things are rapidly accelerating, but it may be that techniques are becoming more refined. However, when dealing with magic one can never be too sure. Keep an eye out for more time seduction songs for further revelations of power and its application. Perhaps someday we will see a seduction with nothing more than the wink of an eye.

I was reading this article at KPKF and this video was the first thing I thought of. Most people are going to focus on the fact that the Chinese singer plagiarized iKON. Sure, maybe he did, I don't know. I had a hard enough time getting through the Chinese song, so I wasn't going to torture myself and listen to the iKON song and then the overlaying of the two songs.

The bigger crime was choosing a shitty song to plagiarize. Rich Korean kids acting all gangster and shit is as authentic as Donald Trump's hair.

Doube S 301 - "Pain" [MV Review]

Before you ask, yes, this is a song that exists.

So this post is a good three months late but I've only listened to this song recently and I've been pretty much addicted to it. Now you must be thinking, who the hell is 'Double S 301'? Why is the name so long and difficult and retarded? And is this another one of those noname nugu groups? No, they aren't nugu. Well, kinda. More like a group that used to be a legend years ago but took a long ass hiatus and are now somewhat at the nugu status. And no, their name is not retarded. It has a very deep, distinct meaning and it stands for "Super Star - three united as one" (mind = blown). Double S 301 is actually a sub-unit of the group "SS501" and if you're new to K-Pop you probably won't know who "SS501" is either.

Well, let me break it down to you.
