Zinger needs to GTFO [Opinion Article]
Normally I'd find something to make fun of in the MV, but watching this MV proved something to me: Secret would be much better without Zinger.
If you compare Hyosung, Jieun, and Sunhwa to the European Union, Zinger would be Greece. She needs to be kicked out. I really had no problems with the MV otherwise. I enjoyed the song and MV aside from whenever Zinger showed up.
I know someone out there is going to point to Zinger's solo rap song, and that's fine and all, but I'm talking about Secret's title tracks. Zinger's raps always bring down the song. It's like adding a piece of a shit to a chocolate cake. Just because you want the turd to fit in with the cake it doesn't mean that it will. The turd will not turn into chocolate. Whenever that part is served on a plate, it's still a fucking turd. That's what Zinger is: a fucking turd. Get that shit out of the chocolate cake and everything would be better.
I tagged it [Opinion Article] for a reason. This wasn't an MV review or an article trying to be funny.

ReplyDeleteSome people were saying her ass slip and Hyosung's boobs were the best thing about this mv. I dunno, her voice is up there with Hyuna with the voices that just bug the hell out of me. The song is already shit and she wasn't helping. At least in Sunhwa's defense she's cute imo.

they have a good dynamic as a three person group. (but i guess this argument is moot, as kpop wouldn't be kpop without useless members, even though i do like Sunhwa as a person)
the person who needs to go is the producer who produced all their songs since Magic. i mean really who thought it would be a good idea to keep the same guy for years even though the only hit he gave them was the fluke Shy Boy.
i find it hard to believe no other producer is willing to work with them.

Did secret's manager/producer smoke too much weed with G-dragon? They seriously think this kind of nonsense stand a chance against snsd(not that I am particularly thrilled with snsd's "girls let the dogs out" rap)?

ReplyDeleteZinger isn't bad by herself; her rapping skills aren't the worst and she's a decent dancer. She's also entertaining; I've watched a couple of variety shows because she was on.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that she really doesn't fit in with Secret's overall direction. Her dancing skills and rapping are unnecessary. She isn't as bad-looking as the authors here seem to think though [just my opinion, haha. And I suppose she gets better looking once you get used to it.]

ReplyDeleteI come here to apologize to Secret after watching the just released crapfest that is the boys from SNSD. I wouldn't bother to get into too much details here but yes, at least the girls from Secret are genuinely hot and I got turned on watching their come back mv.

ReplyDeleteI agree Zinger is the odd one out of the group, but just because the producers do a crappy job incorporating rap parts into Secret's songs, you can't put the blame on Zinger. She is a fantastic rapper, but she doesn't do the whole cutesy image thing. She has trouble with that kind of image so that reflects in the song. I think her company is pushing her in the wrong direction. I think Zinger would do an amazing job as a solo performer. She raps better than most of the girls out there.

I agree with what all of you said. The music isn't terrible, but it isn't good either. Was kind of disappointed when I first saw this mv, with the exception of Zinger bouncing up and down, and Hyosung's gyrating. But hey, it was alot better than SNSD's The Boys, a major bummer that turned out to be. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd what about Zinger? It's true that Zinger's rapping is totally unnecessary in the majority of their tracks (with the exception of Madonna, of course). However, this wouldn't be case had they not changed their concept. This is just my opinion by the way.:)
