2PM's 'Hands Up' song + MV

Fun fact: We don't always hate on boy bands. This is one of those moments (fangirls, read: treasure it).

While nobody in the Kpop industry can really claim to be a genius (especially G-Dragon), I've always appreciated JYP's ability to craft a mindlessly catchy tune. You may not like this song, but it's not freakishly awkward to listen to like many Kpop songs (i.e. Block B- Freeze), and it lingers in your memory for days to come. After a string of absolutely shitty "hits" (I only liked 'Thank You', which wasn't even promoted), the boys have finally released something worth listening to. I didn't even cringe during Taecyeon's parts (?!!!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!!!!!?!??!!).
Summary: I actually fucking like this song.

There was nothing particularly original about it, as one should already have come to expect from Kpop in general (read: seriously, the whole industry based off a couple shitty formulas, but that'll be left for another article {read: hopefully taken by some of the more mature, serious authors}), but it was entertaining in couple ways. The drunk-selca camera effect added nicely to the club effect (especially Chansung), the random horse was quite entertaining (perhaps a nod to Supreme Team's 'Supermagic'), and the boys looked as if they were genuinely enjoying whatever the fuck you would call ... whatever the fuck they're doing. Oh yeah, and the whole thing was loosely based around alcohol. Huh.

Is this fucking late? Yes, but so was your period, and now you're pregnant with a baby you can't support because the boy who planted his seed in you is only 12 and certainly unable to support a child; unfortunately you don't believe in abortion so you're life is basically fucked. Whereas, I'll get what, 2 comments complaining that it was late. Tough luck hun.

    First of all, I absolutely hate Chansung's singing. In all of 2PM's songs, his voice is the most horrendous. (Nichkhun comes in at a close second though.) He can't rap for shit either (*cough* Heartbeat, anyone?)

    At first, I liked the song AFTER the MV came out because it was interesting and fun to look at. But now I'm back to square one, where I just hate this song. It's backwards this time: crap song, good MV.

    Thumbs up to Taecyeon for improving his articulation and improving. Shaved eyebrow, though? DNW. Grow it back. It looks stupid.

    JYP should let them write their own songs. I feel uncomfortable listening to what that ugly old geezer write songs that he thinks fit the current generation. All of 2PM's songs (except for the ones the Jun Bros. wrote) have that undoubtedly "JYP feel" to them. Yuck.

    3.5/5 stars, because they all suddenly got hotter.

    At least its better than all the stuff they released after again and again AND they arent depressive anymore. I think Im fine with this song cause it doesnt so gaygaygay like all the other songs nowadays.

    The song sounded half-assed to me.

    yeah i didn't think it was too bad. a bit too westernized in my opinion (the excessive repetition ㅠㅠ) but better than the shit the girl groups are coming out with.

    I like this song too... On the Wonder Girls fan site crazy fangirls have been literally frothing at the mouth because Sohee has one small line in this... Honestly the first time I listened to this song I didn't even notice her.

    i actually love this! i also dont expect much more than a bit entertainment from kpop. so this works perfect for me. the mv is fun (the camera shaking but not shaking-thing is cool), i dig the song and they are hot in this mv without taking off their clothes for a change. and i like the flashing leather-jackets.
    the only thing that distracts me is this weird glitter on taecs eyebrow. what is this shit?! have to stare at it all the time.

    you get rid of all the areas saying "put your hands up" and something good would have surfaced.

    and i actually liked most of their promotional songs.....their album was alright.


    but yeah, worst song to be promoted so far. generally the more repetitive, the gayer. it's a tie between again & again and this.

    but at least again & again has choreography. that DOESN'T involve waving their arms up and down like idiots for 90% of the time.

    Well this time their songs are not that bad almost good (minus the title track which is just lame) but those 3 guys ruin everything
    Chansung. His voice is absolutely awful. It's unbearable.
    Taec rapping sucks
    Nikhun voice is better than Chansung but it's still mediocre

    They're lucky to have the Jun brothers to save them. + the other guy (sorry i forget his name)

    beat is good, singing SUCKS [especially chansungs - who the hell thought it was a good idea to let him open his mouth and start the damn song?] taec and khun still cant rap for shit and kim chinsu and junwhoo are irrelevant. im surprised i find wooyoung goodlooking in this.

    overall...FAIL jyp, put more effort into improving 2pm's skills and not how they freakin look.

    At least the song is catchy unlike some of their previous songs in my opinion, but it is still not on my list of songs I would listen to. I totally agree with the comments above about Chansung. His singing parts are what really kill the song for me, and the fact that his voice starts the song... yuck!

    i pretty much love every 2pm song and all of its members, i miss when jay park was in the group, i don't even mind taecyeon's rapping, i find myself unable to hear it over the rough passiontae sex i'm having with him in my mind....
