[Old but funny] Taeyeon is better than Lee Haeri

Someone give me some eyedrops! I've run out of tears because I laughed too much! Lee Haeri is probably one of the best Korean vocalists of this generation and some Sones say this stuff. Hilarious. Minkyung is even better than main vocalists of idols groups. She only sounds "average" because she's singing with Lee Haeri. Most people would sound worse than they actually are singing next to Haeri.
Okay, off to get some eyedrops.

Deleteyeah SONES are the most delusional fandom out there i was reading some comments on allkpop abt snsd perf on MTV Japan music aid and saw some sones dissing lady gaga looking like a drag queen at least she's far most the best singer than these 9 squeaking chipmunks, i'm not even one of gaga's little monsters but she sing the best in live and very creative too the best perf on that event.

It helps to see that Taeyeon is the best singer in the world when you don't listen to anything else which is what i noticed from several groups of soshibros.

ReplyDeleteWell, they ARE singers, if they had no members who could sing it would be worrisome, wouldn't it ? But the truth is that among 9 members, only 3 can really sing : Taeyeon and, SOMETIMES (when they feel like it I guess), Jessica and Tiffany. The others are either weak/average singers or can't sing at all.
In 2NE1, only one member can't sing (yes, no matter how "sweet" her voice is Dara can't sing, period).
It doesn't change the fact that Taeyeon is NOTHING compared to Lee Haeri (or even Minkyung), Shin Yeon Ah, Lee Young Hyun, Lee Ji Young, Park Min Hye, Lena Park, Gummy, Baek Ji Young, Lee Soo Young, Yangpa, Joo Hee, Ji Eun, Lyn, and A LOT of other korean female singers.
Taeyeon can sing,but her voice is flat and when singing live she sometimes goes off key and struggle to hit high notes. She is far from being the "amazing" singer Sones claim her to be. And imo BEG and CSJH are so much better than SNSD, so were SeeYa and ofc Big Mama (too bad they both disbanded D:). And it's obvious Davichi pawns SNSD.

Taeyeon is way overrated. She is not a bad singer but her voice is nothing out of the ordinary. And she definitely isn't better than Lee Haeri.

I love SNSD and they are still my favorite group, but saying that Lee Haeri is worse? WTH are the fans thinking? Davichi is miles better and are more thought of as singers. Not ALL SNSD fans are completely delusional, this is why I can't stand SNSD comments at AKP anymore. The group is not filled w/ talented singers. If that was the case the group would have died long ago. If I could sing like Lee Haeri, a 2-5 second solo is utter crap.

She defintely is. I think she was an uljjang before being part of Davichi.
Taeyeon shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Lee Haeri. Her husky stretched voice is of low caliber, but compared to the other members of SNSD they mistake her voice for being high caliber. I lol'd!

ReplyDeleteMeh. Rating singers by "how good they can sing" is a failed prospect anyway, because it is very, very subjective. For example, Celine is considered to be a powerful singer with good technique, but for many people she sounds like a cat being dragged through a wood chipper.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, K-pop listeners are too extremist in these "discussions", I would argue that the comments above are so focused on describing how delusional many Sones are that they go to the other extreme and become delusional themselves.
Say what you will about Taeyeon's talent or lack thereof, but it is pointless to ascribe "emotion" to someone's vocals. I mean if I laughed during Schindler's List it would be pretty presumptuous of me to say it wasn't a very emotional film, because I'm sure it was a very emotional film for a lot of people. For the record, I don't really care who sings better. Haeri and Taeyeon are both competent singers in my opinion, and when I listen to a song, I care more about the song as a whole than just vocal prowess.
That being said, the articles on this blog are really funny and well written, so keep it up!

while i don't think haeri qualifies as a "top" korean singer, she's a heck of a lot better than taeyeon (who isn't bad, but isn't great either). it's pretty ridiculous when she gets compared to a singer like lee haeri though. i also saw some comments on a jane zhang video comparing her and taeyeon. jane zhang is considered one of the best singers in asia...like hello? what the heck.

ReplyDeleteIn terms of pure vocal abilities, the clear and obvious winner is Lee Haeri. But for some people, they might not like Haeri's sharp piercing voice but prefer Taeyeon's more soothing voice. That's just their taste - fair enough. Another thing that should be kept in mind when comparing Davichi and SNSD is that Davichi is more of a ballad group whereas SNSD is a pop group. So of course, Davichi's vocals will be better.
