If you solely base your marriage on the fact that someone is half Korean, then you will live a miserable life together.

And that second, highlighted comment: Really? How can you be so shameless? Have some pride in your culture. Being Korean or Japanese does not necessarily make you superior. It is not like every Korean/Japanese person is an idol. Surely what you are has some good things going for them.

Bah. I hope you die alone and unhappy. Your shallowness is undeserving of kindness.

Or maybe I am just too cynical.

    Can't agree with that, sorry. I don't see patriotism as a virtue and won't be biased for my country simply cause that's where I come from.

    It's easy to be proud of your culture if you come from the US, Japan, Italy or shit like that but when you're from China like me and actually know how the country, culture and people are... Simply put, not every country is something to be proud of. Would you be proud of your culture if you were from gay-decapitating saudi arabia?

    Shinbi, I like your articles but please don't tell me what to do. I for one would much rather have been half korean than half chinese, partly because China has so many flaws it's ridiculous, partly because korean girls look 100 times better than chinese girls (not because of the genes, but because 95% of chinese people don't give a fuck about how they look).

      Why not just accept yourself as an individual. You don't need culture to be a person. Recognize yourself as such, as your own. Instead of shaming it, transcend it.

      I honestly think this thread is full of retardation, from the akf side. Of course you should be able to wish you were born in different circumstances. Just take the starving kids in Africa as an example. Wishing someone an unhappy lonely death for just saying something like that is way excaggerated.

      Africa's situation isn't cultural, though, and the people in the comments are (most likely) just being plain shallow, and not really making a cultural statement.
      But yeah, I agree, nationalism (tribalism) IS one of the more unproductive things that humanity took with it from it's biology. What we don't need to inherit, we can, and should, improve.

      I hate everything bullshit Filipinos brag about themselves. I honestly hate the culture we bred (hypocrite puritan Catholicism, white insecurity, horrible sense of punctuality, superstitious, miserable work ethics, low professionalism, simple-mindedness, inconsistency with words and deeds, self-centeredness but clamors for social unity???, lack of common decency and so much more). For sure other culutres have a corrupt part of their own culture, but I'm saying that 'patriotism' and all those delusion won't cover up to the same shit we do everyday.
