After School - Rambling Girls

Just when I had given up on being a PlayGirl due to losing Bekah and PLEDIS spending too much time on Orange Caramel, After School came out with their OWN NEW SONG for their Japanese promotions.

I have to admit, I really like the beats. I would enjoy an instrumental of this.

As for the lyrics, sometimes when they were speaking English, it just about sounded like a different language to me. I mean, my Japanese is not very good, but during their English parts, I was seriously questioning if I just forgot all of my Japanese, or they made their own noises up.

Their costumes, I assume, will be really polarizing. I kind of like them. But it is not like it is an outfit I would wear in public or anything. And their dance so far is not half bad.

I think this song might actually do well, something new now for After School since it has been long time since something like "Because of You" came out. I personally did not enjoy "Bang", but I did really love their drum and tap routines. And I am probably the only person who actually liked "Shampoo". Needless to say, After School Blue did not do well, with After School Red barely surpassing them (again though, I think I was the only one who liked ASRed).

Hopefully this one, if the actual song and MV are anything like this teaser, will do well and push them to even more success. Maybe if they translated it into Korean, they might win an award on a show for once. But I have to say, I think a dance song like this, if they could speak English, could potentially even do well in North American clubs.

Thoughts of 아저씨:
They really upgraded this move from Sistar's So Cool.

At first I thought they editor was trying to ruin the best part by adding a video glitch effect, but observing more closely I see he was trying to hide how out of sync they were. Uee and Jooyeon forget to do the first hip swing and Jooyeon barely does the second one. Also, interestingly, Nana and Raina are in sync with each other perfectly on the beat. Kahi and Jungah are in sync with each other a little behind the beat. OC skills proving themselves, or Kahi and Jungah getting old? lol.

P.S. ShinB playgirl... mmmm...

Though with me being me, the song will find a place in my heart.....not as much as "Diva" or "because of you" of course.

  8. Are they channeling SDN48??? trololol!!!

That's good because SDN48 is hot.

After School should do mv's like abazure, sado he wataru, or eros no trigger; only then will they be very successful in Japan! :D

  10. @9:05 I liked Shampoo too. But I really hated AS Red's song. I expected it to be a badass 2NE1-ish song, but instead, it turned out to sound like any other Sistar song.

well compared to AS blue's song, AS Red's song is definitely better but yeah it turned out to be something that Sistar would sing

  12. That's really true. AS Blue's song sounded like a copy of any Orange Caramel song. I didn't mean it when I said I hated it, but I didn't like it too much because it sounded like a generic Brave Brothers song.

  13. The english is Kahi's fault.

  18. Was this produced by Bravesound? O.o

  19. i liked Shampoo and i liked AS Red as well (once you get over the "brave sound is so generic!!!!" the song is catchy, and the performances were awesome)

this is probably the best thing from the them in a while. tbh i've always thought they should give up AS and just work on subgroups like a lot of Japanese groups do.
and i don't get why people give Kahi and Jungah shit for being old... it actually makes them hotter to me... they're only 30 lol

  20. @11:11 Is this the same anon from before? If so, then I get where you're coming from. The songs are catchy.

  21. I feel like I'm watching an SNSD video. White room, shiny costumes, over-the-knee hooker boots... After School is losing their identity. I'm actually really sad about this, even if the choreo is cute.

  22. i actually really dislike this...i loved their other songs though, like shampoo and bang.
lol @3:12 hooker boots. made me giggle.

  23. Nana's breasts won't stop growing :O

  24. @3:12 Exactly what came to my mind when I watched the video. It's somehow not as bad though. But you're right, After School IS losing their identity. If you tried to figure out what their genre has become, you wouldn't be able to tell.

  25. I feel bad for E-young. It seems there's no reason for her addition; you wouldn't notice her unless you were looking for her. She gets literally 3 seconds in every video she's been in so far. It's like Hwayoung's addition to T-ara. Both are unused, probably the only purpose of them lowering the group's average age. At least CCM makes an attempt to use Hwayoung.

  26. Well I was hoping for a bit more from AS to make a comeback from the unsuccessful split. But listening to this is almost like listening to a children song with just some beat added.
Dissappointed..... I guess it'll be a while before they can come up with another AS hit like "Because of you". I think a lost with directions and as mentioned identity.

  27. AS didn't really have an identity to begin with. After Ah and Diva, that is. When is the full song coming out? I find this to be a little catchy actually

  28. Isn't SDN48 the same group that made a lesbo porno?
Don't compare them with Afterschool -___-

    ReplyDelete
  29. Seriously it sounds familiar.. i bet its a copy plud upgraded version of an old song..

  30. The reason why After School has so many sub-unit groups is because Pledis didn't want to introduce a new group so suddenly. I don't understand why people give After School so much shit. The reason why After School is not as famous is because Pledis really sucks at promoting songs. Yet After School is there biggest success. And I hate how After School is being compared to other Kpop girl groups. It really gets on my nerves. I am full PlayBoyz and this song might be there success in Japan. Support After School not compare them with groups like SNSD. I really don't like SNSD.

    1. It's easy to compare since they both come from Korea, have a nearly same number of members and have touched on the same array of concepts throughout their existence as groups. Tho I do agree that there's no point in comparing because SNSD isn't AS' only competitor in the Japanese market. Aside from that, a combination of song, MV, promotion and members have a lot of bearing with the success of the group (and the company) as a whole. It's sometimes just a matter of luck you got these kind of people who perfectly fit a specific song or concept you'd like to shove at their petty little fangirl minds (Japan, Korea or int'l ofc--they're all the same stuck-up, deluded kunts). Nevertheless, promotion and strategy always counts

Damn this is such a necropost
