Of Tails and Turtlenecks (Kpop bans)

As of recent, there has been an interesting string of bans in the wide realm of Kpop (most notably, Hyuna's 'Bubble Pop'); anything mildly controversial has been slaughtered by the lovely 'KCC'. Having your choreo/outfit banned could spell immediate failure, as you would be unable to perform on television. Taking this into account, a couple labels have been changing outfits/choreo before any bans could be issued.

For example, Starship Entertainment willingly removed Sistar's delicious ass-rubbing 'tail dance' to avoid any sexual controversies (question: If they were going to change it before anyone even complained, why the hell did they implement it in the first place?)

In addition, Happy Face Entertainment (the fuck is with these names?) completely revised Dal Shabet's performing outfits. They decided to trash the shit from the 'Bling Bling' teaser (I find it hard to see how such mild outfits could get them banned, but..) and go with long pants and turtlenecks instead. Turtlenecks.

Poor Ahjussi will be disappointed.

But back on topic, KCC needs to step off. If they keep this shit up, Kpop will be filled with nuns singing disgustingly clean songs, and then where would we be, huh? Kpop has gained international popularity for one real reason: physical features. You take that away, and what do we have? Talent? Musical depth? Bullshit; we're left with nothing.

  3. Damn you david i was going to write a kpop banning getting out of hand" article but i think mine wouldnt have been as funny as yours so...

    anywho I agree.
Its ridonk to ban lyrics or choreo but you still have the girls dancing in incredibly short dresses and short shorts.I mean look at the dresses those Sista girls are wearing i could almost see their vajayjays esp when they are shaking their non existent booties.SNSD with their cooch hugging booty shorts. So banning the dance routine or lyrics only is retarded.I say you ban one you ban them all.Ban the cooch shorts ban vajayjay exposing dresses.

  4. ACTRESSES ARE FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHT TO TAKE A SHOWER IN A DRAMA AND FEMALE IDOLS NEED TO FIGHT TO BE ABLE TO DANCE IN A SEXY WAY ON TV!

Cuz once it's out on the internet, it's gonna spread. So even if they change the choreo, the original stuff is still out there. Banning is free publicity. People will be curious why it's banned and such. I remember few years ago when Epik High's Breakdown MV was banned, that made me want to watch it right away! (Of course, it being Epik High did help)

The KCC are so inconsistent. They ban (sometimes) stupid things yet they don't ban overly short shorts and skirts. If they want to ban something, ban these underage girls from performing in such revealing outfits!! And yeah, do an investigation on all those sexual acts that they're forced to do behind closed doors! They really need a lesson on what actually affects youth and what doesn't.

  6. Well, normally when something is banned more people will always view it.

In my opinion, I see nothing wrong with Sistar's vid or Hyuna's. This is stupid---the music industry shouldn't let these groups tell them what to do.

  8. Have they walked down the street? Have they seen what girls are wearing in public?! Have they seen the children everywhere in public seeing it?!?! WHAT INNOCENCE ARE YOU SAVING WITH PANTS AND TURTLENECKS?!?!?!

  9. they are taking the ban hammer a little too serious.
Saving innocence and purity, in the words of Penn&teller, BULLSHIT.
KCC is living on some highly righteous religious shit. Which is funny because its probably filled with old men that drools at the same girls that they ban.

  11. KCC banned Bubble Pop's choreography + outfit, thus making it impossible for her to perform. That's what the other groups are worried about.
