Problem #439057308532854 with Kpop fans: The 'need' to win on some music show. Who wins music shows these days? Established groups that release the same song every time. Younger groups just need to worry about accumulating fans, just like the one I circled in the image above. With so many idol groups out now, it'll be too hard for younger groups to win awards on music shows. Hell, a younger idol group could release the best idol song of the year, but they would still lose to a track from SNSD where the SNSD members just belched for three minutes. "Oh, flawless burping~. Nothing can beat this masterpiece of a song." I'd say for the newer groups, they should focus on making songs that will get people to pay attention to them. Getting into Inkigayo's Take 7 would be more than enough for them to get some recognition.

DeleteWell humans--whether Korean dogs or Pinoy monkeys--are social animals. They have a flair for herd mentality, bandwagonism and easily fall prey to Argumentum Ad Populum (AKA "If many believe so, it is fact."), therefore, votes, rankings and awards no matter how lopsided the justifications were, still make huge impact. They serve as confidence boosters in a market filled with mindless, uninquisitive drones.

As long as a group hits Top 10 and STAYS there, the fans shouldn't be worried. But, no winning is everything cause otherwise the group'll disband apparently. Some of the idols tweeting about having to win this time doesn't help at all.
