Guilty pleasure songs of 2012

Now that the year's wrapped up, I thought I'd come out of the bad music closet and admit to liking some embarrassing songs.

Please save me from myself.

Warning: If you get ill thinking about shit idol music, please do not read on.

Here's my picks for best guilty pleasure songs of the year:

Shinee "Sherlock"
If there was ever a song that warranted an "I'd don't care what anyone thinks but ..." it's this one. The video includes several crimes against hair, some sort of hybrid goose-stepping/frolicking, and epic man waving, yet I still keep coming back. So shamefur. ;_;

4Minute "Volume Up"
I wasn't lyin' when I said I liked 4Minute. I've been obsessed with this song since it came out. If it's on and it gets skipped, I whine like a spoiled sorority bitch.

Block B "Nillili Mambo"
This song is terrible. And so am I for liking it.

Got any better guilty pleasure songs of the year? If not, you can just judge me on mine.

  3. Kpop in general is a guilty pleasure for me tbh

I feel most guilty about liking EXO songs though
    Machine, Two Moons and History

I want to dislike Block B because they're a bunch of dicks, but damn their main releases are annoyingly catchy

    1. block b is one of the best variety idols imo. match up is genuinely funny, and not in that sickening scripty way.

    2. I agree with you about block b I can't stand their faces and personalities but I like their songs.

    3. I like Machine from exo, the only song I like from them.

    4. exo is a lot better in chinese.

  4. T-ara's Sexy Love.
It sound so much like Lovey Dovey and Roly Poly, even Bo Peep Bo Peep a bit, and I don't want to like it.
But fuck if it isn't catchy.

  5. DBSK's Android, Catch Me, and Humanoids. There's a part of me saying that I shouldn't like these songs, but 1) the choreography for these songs unintentionally make me laugh and 2) the two have enough talent to overcome their Super Junior formula songs.

    1. Lol yeah, whenever I see the still for the "Catch Me" vid, I think "MEGA ARM!"

  6. Block B's Burnout, OST of Phantom. I don't really like the group as a whole but damn it, something about that song is alluring.

    1. Ghost, gah, I still think it's the best kdrama I've ever watched. And I agree on BB's song, it is alluring and always make me want to re-watch the freaking drama, even though I've already done it three times. OTL

  7. EXO's "What is Love" and basically everything by B.A.P, but mostly That XX by G-Dragon.

  10. Nililli Mambo is actually a pretty well-composed pop song though i did think it sounds odd on first listen. The instrumental alone makes for a good track. 'No joke' is my guilty pleasure though, song is too try-hard, but very jammable.

  14. I find Touch (Miss A) and Volume Up pretty enjoyable, too bad these tracks were released to little fanfare in Korea (the only event worth noting is CUBE bulk buying the albums during 4minute's CB). On the other hand, the spectacular success of Alone and Loving u from SISTAR, both of which are mediocre at best, remains puzzling to me.

These groups' failure to take off (the second CB of Miss A in 2012 has solicited a even more lukewarm response from the Korean public), I am afraid, has pretty much sealed their fate. The respective overachievers among them, namely Hyuna the hyena and Suzy the fat whore, will inevitably opt for solo careers, leaving behind some defunct groups to pick up scraps left over.........

      TTS - Baby Steps
ZE:A - Pheonix (idk why) minus Kwanghee's face
      GLAM - Party(XXO)

  18. Jesus, where to start?

EXO-K: Pretty much on constant rotation."What is Love" might as well be my fucking theme song.
    SO MUCH B.A.P.
    SO MUCH INFINITE

But the most embarrassing would have to be my B1A4 playlist.
    Yep.
I think I want to have sex with the speccy one.

    1. I like a shameful amount of B1A4 songs

    2. i am embarrassingly attracted to b1a4's jinyoung.

but what is love is yoo young jin doing his thing. mama is actually a pretty decent track in chinese, but its novelty wears off. same for everything bap has ever made; only good for a couple of listens. other than 'voicemail'.

and don't be embarrassed of inpenis; they're one of the few groups coming out with refreshingly different music right now.

  19. Cross Gene's La Di Da Di

It's so terrible but I love it 8I

  20. 4minute Volume Up is my jam, they song deserve much more love compare to 90% that came out today. next to BAP, those ma niggas

  21. I'll have to agree that 4Minute's Volume Up was the best!!! They're my favorite group<3

  22. ZEA's Phoenix
    Boyfriend's Anus
    Block B's Nillili Mambo

This may sound cheesy but any Hello Venus and Girls' Day song kills the rock spirit inside me but I'm not gonna stop listening to their songs just yet.

  23. I like SHINee - Sherlock the most!! ;)

  24. I was going to say Girl's Day's "Hug Me Once" but that was in 2011. May as well be my biggest guilty pleasure of all time though lol.

Also, I've seen ZE:A's "Phoenix" mentioned a few times. I REGRET NOTHING. I'm the crazy person that still listens to Mazeltov and I had Aftermath on replay countless times.

If I have to choose my big guilty pleasure of 2012 though... Hyuna. I've had Unripe Apple on repeat so many times while playing Skyrim. I'm not proud.
