To be honest, I already mourned for 2NE1 back in 2014, so I'm relatively numb to this. While 2NE1 haven't been on their A-game in years, they still put out some of the best music in K-pop between 2009-2012, which will always be looked upon fondly.

Well at least we have CL surely making her 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th American debut *shutters*, Dara doing advertisements, Minzy doing a solo sometimes in the future and Bom(?) who got the shortest end of the stick in this situation.

U.S. radio station hilariously edits 'I Am the Best'

A radio station in Boston played "I Am the Best" and hilariously edited out "naega" because it sounds like nigga. I'll admit when I first started listening to kpop I got a chuckle every time I heard that because to my disgusting non-Korean ears it does sound a bit like that. Now if only they could edit out the all of the lyrics as well as Bom and CL, we'll be set.

Kpopalypse 2NE1 shittiness survey - find the truth!

The experts agree: with a successful career, an eye-catching aesthetic unique among k-pop idol groups and several iconic hits under their belt, there's no denying the influence of 2NE1, a YG Entertainment production who are legitimately one of the best groups in k-pop.  Oh wait... did I type "are"?  I meant "were", sorry about that.  It's not a secret to anybody with reasonably discerning musical taste that 2NE1's last couple of years' worth of output has been complete and utter crap compared to their 2009-2011 glory days.  It hasn't hurt the group commercially but 2NE1 are riding off brand recognition alone at this point anyway, they've already built up an insane fanbase that will lap up literally anything they shit out no matter how bad (meaning bad) it is.  Let's be honest here - if 2NE1 were a brand new group debuting with any of the songs that they've been peddling lately, nobody would tolerate it - they would have sunk without a trace.

We all know the "what" and the "when", but being an inquisitive sort, I'm more interested in the "how" and "why".  How could such an iconic group suddenly sink so low in terms of musical quality?  Why do all their new songs suck many hard cocks?  This post will look at a few theories, present a case for each one, and attempt to bring an elusive answer to this troubling question.

We all know how like popular Lee Hi is with like the general public right now but like YG is so fucking biased with her it's like not even fair. She's just debuted and like she's going to Japan? Like WTF even?

After her stunning success as one of the ‘monster rookies’ of the past few months, soloist Lee Hi is becoming more important in YG Entertainment‘s future plans.

According to a YG representative, CEO Yang Hyun Suk has personally directed Lee Hi to become fluent in Japanese within three months. This is in preparation for her upcoming Japanese debut, which will be held in conjunction with Avex.

As one of the top record labels in Japan, Avex has previously partnered up with YG Entertainment for2NE1 and Big Bang‘s Japanese debuts.

The ‘K-Pop Star‘ rookie’s overseas debut is slated to take place within this year.
