Best of the Worst: Oct. 15, 2015

Here's a question for you: Has a kpop idol or group become so popular that you've started to dislike them because of it?

I've never experienced this urge to turn against something just because it's suddenly ubiquitous. I have seen plenty of groups rise to popularity only to make shitty songs. In such cases, I've started to dislike the group not because of its sudden popularity but because its new music is nothing like what drew me in the first place.

But apparently, hating on idols for getting lots of attention and media play is a thing.

I'll show you... why I don't like Allkpop.

Anybody who is anybody that follows k-pop will know that the website Allkpop has been the most popular news and information site for a while now.  They also seem to be the most hated.

Of course, everybody likes to hate something that is really popular, but I personally find that there's plenty of legitimate reasons to not be that fond of Allkpop.  Let's look at some of the reasons that may have caused people to dislike Allkpop, and then I'll tell you why I personally dislike them.  It's not what you think.

Ailee & why singing is not really important in pop music

It is generally heard -and written- in Kpop communities on the importance of talent, which is not a bad thing in itself, but the notion of what "talent" stands for tends to be narrowed down to two categories: either singing or dancing. While the first one is noticed by most human beings, the second one is often neglected to a "main dancer" label.

Ailee's Titties Not Fooling Any Netizens

I feel like I've written about this subject many many times now, but it never fails to boggle my mind how inconsistent netizens of all stripes and colors can be about boobies. They're wonderful. They contain the magical power to hypnotize men (and other women if they're so inclined) and infuriate women (and prudish men), but it seems these days either people are getting more adept at seeing through the illusions woven by a good push-up bra or the women wearing said bras are going too HAM with the antigravity.

This edition? Ailee.
