[MV Review-ish] Crying Because Stellar Decided to Start Being Boring

Anybody who knows me knows that I fuck with Stellar. So nobody is more disappointed by their latest track than I am.

For a group that has historically done so much inventive stuff, both visually and aurally, this track and video are both annoyingly generic.

Usually, Stellar songs sound like Stellar songs. Sting, Vibrato and Mask were all distinctive, cool, and musically interesting (though I admit that Fool was terrible and Marionette was some cut-rate Fiestar nonsense). Sting and Vibrato also had videos that were both super sexy and included some heavy-handed social commentary about female objectification and the internet, or whatever. Maybe that's not everyone's cup of tea, but this new shit sounds like an AOA b-side and looks like a lower-budget SISTAR summer track with the plot of Dal Shabet's Someone Like U. Almost anything is preferable to that.

Yeah, they all look hot. It's not an objectively bad song. But jesus, it's about as exciting as a bowl of plain yogurt. Please, Stellar, go back to lingerie, skittery synths, vagina imagery, whiplash-inducing tempo changes, dismembered Barbies, disco influences, cursors on your butts, etc. This mainstream crap is tiresome.

  1. I could basically just copypaste what I wrote below the other Crying article.
    Marionette was cool too.

    1. Agreed with the Minhee comment, and Marionette. But yeah, this was a case of two of us writing articles about the same thing at the same time and just going ahead and posting them both.

  2. This song ruined my track record of loving every Stellar title track. Curse you, Brave Brothers! :(
